Using Soil Sampling Logistics (Mobile)

A Step by step guide for using the Soil Sampling Logistics feature

There are multiple ways to get to a field for Soil Sampling. From the main screen, you go to SWAT RECORDS > Soil Sampling. Here you can see/edit any sampling notes needed for the farm that you are on. From here there are 3 options you can select to view field(s).

Select Field

  1. The select field is a basic option if you already know the field you need to sample and are sitting in it already. If you click on this, you can then select your field that you are in.
  2. If this is a new field and you need to generate sampling points, please visit the generating soil sampling points article.
  3. Once you are done sampling the field, you can then use the logistic at the bottom to mark that it's been sampled.

Fields for "Farm Name"

  1. This will give you an overview of all of the farms fields on a map. This map goes off of the Sampling Logistics and will color code them accordingly.
    • Grey - No sampling needed
    • Orange - Sampling needed but not ready
    • Green - Field is ready to be sampled
    • Red - Field is sampled
  2. You can then click on the field where an option at the top will show you the Farm Name and Field Name followed by a View Field button. By click on this, it will bring you to the field sampling menu.
  3. If this is a new field and you need to generate sampling points, please visit the generating soil sampling points article.
  4. Once you are done sampling the field, you can then use the logistic at the bottom to mark that it's been sampled.
  5. You can then hit the back button to go back to the map view and continue sampling.
